What is probability and how do we measure a chance?
Flip a coin. Before it lands, the world holds its breath. Will it be heads or tails? You truly don't know — and yet, somehow, you can say something smart about it. That "something smart" is called probability, and it's the math of not-knowing-yet. Let's go figure out how to measure a maybe.
Probability is just a way of putting a number on how likely something is. We slide every "maybe" onto a line that runs from 0 to 1. A 0 means "no chance, never gonna happen." A 1 means "totally certain, bank on it." Everything interesting lives in the wobbly middle.
