Where does tax money actually go?
You hand over money when you buy stuff, earn money, own a house. Some of it goes to the government — we call it tax. But then what? Does it just pile up in a vault somewhere? Does someone spend it on pizza? Let's follow the money.
First stop: schools. A big chunk of tax money pays for teachers, books, buses, playgrounds, and the janitor who mops up that milk spill in the cafeteria. Without taxes, schools would have to charge you a ticket price every morning — and not everyone could afford to go.
