Put your hand on your chest. Feel that? Thump-thump. Thump-thump. That steady drum has been playing since before you were born, and it won't stop to take a single day off. So what is it actually doing in there?
Your heart is a muscle, about the size of your closed fist. But it's not a muscle for lifting things. It has one job, all day, every day: it's a pump. A squishy, tireless pump that pushes blood around your body.
