A Wonderleaf question

What are the Pyramids of Giza?

What are the Pyramids of Giza?

a real page from the book

The Pyramids of Giza are ancient Egyptian royal tombs built on a desert plateau near Cairo. They were made for pharaohs, including Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, because Egyptians believed a king’s spirit needed a prepared place for the afterlife.

The biggest pyramid used more than two million stone blocks, hauled and fitted by skilled workers long before engines or modern machines. Its outside once had a bright pale covering, so a child standing there thousands of years ago would have seen something dazzling against the desert sky.
