A Wonderleaf question

Who lived in castles?

Who lived in castles?

a real page from the book

Castles were home to many kinds of people, not only nobles. A lord and his family might live there, along with knights, guards, cooks, stable workers, craftspeople, servants, priests, guests, and villagers sheltering nearby when fighting came close.

A castle was also a workplace, court, storehouse, and lookout post. The busiest room was often the hall, where meals, news, arguments, music, and orders all met under one roof. For a curious child, it helps to picture less palace and more noisy stone town.
