A Wonderleaf question

Who lived in the Mesa Verde cliff houses?

Who lived in the Mesa Verde cliff houses?

a real page from the book

The Mesa Verde cliff homes were lived in by the Ancestral Pueblo, farming communities whose families had deep roots in the Four Corners area. They raised corn, beans, and squash, shaped stone buildings by hand, and used the cliff alcoves as real neighborhoods with rooms, storage, workspaces, and gathering places.

One clever part of Mesa Verde is how the rock itself helped with daily life: the overhang could shade homes during hot months, while lower winter sunlight reached farther inside. Builders still had to haul stone, wood, and mortar up steep paths, which makes the surviving walls feel even harder to take in.

Try it out

Stack small stones outside or blocks indoors, then try building a wall under a table edge to feel what cliff building changes.
