Do lizards pee?

Yes. Lizards do pee, but many do it as a dry, chalky paste instead of a stream of liquid. Their kidneys remove waste from the blood, then their bodies keep back precious water by turning much of that waste into uric acid.

The pale bit usually leaves with the darker poop through one opening called the cloaca, so the bathroom system is tidy and water-saving. Some lizards, including marine iguanas, can even send extra salt out near the nose, leaving a tiny crust.
