Robots move because electricity runs motors, and motors make parts turn. Gears, wheels, and joint pieces change that turning into rolling, lifting, gripping, stepping, or bending. A computer sends instructions so each part moves at the right time.
A robot hand may use tiny controlled motors at each finger joint, while a wheeled robot can steer by spinning one side faster than the other. Walking robots are especially busy: sensors keep checking tilt and balance while many joints adjust together.
Use your hands as robot grippers and try picking up socks, spoons, and paper using only stiff finger movements.
