A Wonderleaf question

How are books made?

How are books made?

a real page from the book

Books are made by turning an idea into pages, then printing, folding, binding, trimming, and covering those pages. Writers, editors, illustrators, designers, printers, and machines all help move the book from a computer file to something a child can hold.

One especially neat detail is that printed pages may start out arranged in a strange-looking order. After the big sheet is folded several times, the numbers fall into place, and a jumble becomes a story that opens correctly from front to back.
