Why do we cry tears?

We cry tears because eyes need liquid care, and sometimes they need extra help. Ordinary tears keep eyes comfortable; sudden tears rinse away dust, onion fumes, or pain. Feeling-tears seem to help people show others, something is happening inside.
A detail kids love: tears do not only roll down cheeks. Some drain through tiny openings near the eyelids and travel toward the nose, which is why crying often comes with sniffles same plumbing.
