How does the water cycle move water around Earth?

The water cycle moves water by changing where it is and what form it takes. Sun warms water so it rises as vapor, cool air turns it into cloud droplets, and gravity brings it down as rain, snow, or hail.
After it lands, water may sink underground, feed plants, run into streams, or travel through rivers toward the sea. Some water stays frozen for ages, while some passes through leaves, puddles, baths, carrots, and cups before starting another round.
