Why do we blink?

We blink because eyes need steady moisture, cleaning, and quick protection. Each blink spreads tears over the front of the eye, clears specks, and keeps vision smooth. It also snaps shut when danger comes close, giving your eyeball a built-in shield.
The fun part is that your brain hides the tiny dark gaps. Your eyes close again and again, but you experience one unbroken view of the room, the page, or your child’s face leaning closer to ask why.
